St. Matthew’s Episcopal School is an independent school and receives no funds from the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana. We rely on funds generated through tuition and fees, Annual Giving, school fundraisers and other specially designated gifts to the school for Capital Improvement. The tuition at St. Matthew’s is priced below the actual cost of educating each child so that as many children as possible can experience this unique educational environment. Currently, the gap between the actual cost of educating your child and the annual tuition is approximately $1200. The funds donated to Annual Giving are dedicated solely to bridging this gap, and give the school an additional source of revenue to meet a variety of annual institutional needs. One of the most valuable gifts to St. Matthew’s is an Annual Giving gift that helps pay for current obligations surrounding faculty salaries, library materials, scholarships, classroom equipment, special academic programs, athletic programs and student activities. The unrestricted nature of the Annual Giving Fund gives the school the flexibility to meet the areas of greatest institutional need. Donations to Annual Giving are tax-deductible and all levels of support and contributions to the school are greatly appreciated.
This annual fall fundraiser is a community event that provides children and their families the opportunity to explore their creativity. Parent volunteers plan and direct hands-on projects. Artists and performers are on the grounds throughout the day to add to the enjoyment of the festival. This festival is attended by many families of the Houma community, as well as our surrounding parishes, and is a major fundraiser for our school.
