Annual Parent Association Sponsored Events
The Parent Association provides support, assistance, & funding for "all school" events. "All school" meaning events that affect every class.
Back to School Ice Cream Social - The Parent Association Board usually hosts. Typically the "Back to School Ice Cream Social is held the Saturday before school starts. The purpose of the event is for students (and parents) to meet their teacher and receive important paperwork.
Parent Open House - Typically held two weeks after school starts. Open House is an opportunity for parents to see their child's classroom and learn from the teacher what will be expected during the school year.
Grandparent's Day - Typically held the
week before Thanksgiving vacation.
Grandparents are mailed invitations from
the office. Special activities are planned by the teachers and their students to honor their grandparents. Grandparents are treated to refreshments and classroom visitations.
Prospective Parent Open House - Typically held in February. For the last few years, both a morning and evening Prospective Parent Open House have been offered. The purpose of the event is to help those parents who are trying to choose a school. A parent from every class is asked to attend, to show prospective parents around school and answer questions. Refreshment are served.
Teacher Appreciation Week - The week varies from year to year based on the School calendar. Typically each day of the week is assigned a "special day": flower day, sweet day, card day, etc. Breakfast is usually served to the teachers one morning, and a luncheon is served one day. Parents are asked to watch the classrooms while the teacher's all enjoy lunch together.
Pizza Fridays - School lunch every
Friday.
